Table settings can be simple or elaborate. When it comes to the holidays we love to decorate our homes for guests and friends. The focal point being the table that we gather around to share stories and enjoy the meal.

Some theme ideas to consider

Table settings can create a mood for the guests. By focusing the table setting around a theme creates an atmosphere.

The theme of color for a table setting

Durning any season consider the vibrant colors. In the fall consider some of these beautiful ideas for your gatherings by using gourds, rustic branches and warm colored floral’s in your setting. The pop of color will carry your eye down the table. Add candles to give you a cozy warm feeling.

Using flowers and gourds bring everything together to feel warm and inviting.

The Season

This whimsical Halloween table was found on Good House Keeping. Look at the simple elements used to make a fantastic table. Black candlesticks with small pumpkins on top, cake stands to hold black and orange treats at various levels to add interest, and gauzy cheesecloth as a tablecloth adds to the festivity of the holiday.  It’s a great example that shows decorating a table does not have to be expensive.

Use the menu for the table setting theme

Let your guest know what the menu will be, use it to direct the theme for the table setting.menu table setting

Consider the food that will be served. Use this to create a theme for the table. A seafood dinner party use a nautical color theme of blue and white. Add table decorations of coral and candles, sea grass place mats and seashell napkin rings. Insert the menu into a wine glass. Here the napkin is festive in itself. Find fabric that relates what you want your theme to be and make this simple menu as a “napkin ring.” The heart garland around the table makes the table feel festive also.

And of course, everyone’s favorite is decorating for the holiday’s.

Use the season along with the holiday. A table setting done this way can be used over and over again. To make it relate more to a particular holiday the napkin color can change along with the color of the flowers. The simplicity is so pretty and pleasing to the eye.
